Peer observation
A practice for individual and collective teaching professional development
Peer observation
This web space is the result of the research project "Peer Observation as Teaching Professional Development: Towards a Collaborative Culture in Primary and Secondary Schools (PeerObserv)," funded by the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación. The project was carried out in collaboration with the Department of Education of Catalonia and the Government of the Balearic Islands, spanning the years 2021-2024.
In the first section, you will find conceptual information about peer observation (PO) and an explanation of its benefits, based on published evidence. Following this, we present the process for implementing PO in educational centers, along with resources to facilitate the process. The next two sections focus on research: first, previous studies conducted in both Catalonia and the Balearic Islands are described; second, the specific research linked to the project is detailed, including objectives, team members, and results. Here, you can access published articles and paper presentations related to the project. Lastly, there is a final section offering general resources linked to PO, including both our own materials and those from other sources.
